What you need

A smart trainer speaking Bluetooth FTMS or ANT+ FE-C — this is the one real requirement
An iPhone, iPad or Android phone or tablet to run the app
Optional: a heart rate strap, power meter or cadence sensor, each paired separately

Without a trainer the app still opens, but the live screen reads 0 W — there is nothing broadcasting power. A tablet propped on the bars is the setup this was built for.

The desktop companion signs in with the same account and is the easiest way to review a ride on a real keyboard.
